William and Elizabeth came with her parents, Moses Taylor and Elizabeth Prevette Taylor to what is now Warren Co, KY in 1795. Later, in 1812 they moved to Butler Co, KY to the Welches Creek area. In the Spring, 1995 issue of "Kentucky Traces" by Butler Co. Genealogy and Historical Society is information researched for Admission to the D.A.R. and submitted by Douglas Daugherty, Morgantown, KY. This information stated that William Beesley and Elizabeth Taylor lived at Dexterville and that Wm Beesley was a Revolutionary War veteran. The children and grandchildren (children of John) of William and Elizabeth were listed as heirs and signed a deed from the estate of William Beesley. Nicey has been listed by some researchers as a child of John and grandchild of William Beesley. However, another Deed in Butler Co, KY, Deed Book G, p. 87 lists the heirs of John Beesley and Nicey is not one of John's children but is listed on William's estate settlement as either a child or a grandchild. William Beasley (Beesley) is listed in the 1840 census of Butler County, KY. William Beasley was in Rev. War, Pvt. NC Militia, Co. of Capt. David Roach, Commanded by Col. Anson . 1 yr. + 6 Months. Served under General Gates at his defeat at Camden, SC. Drafted first , then volunteered under Capt. Johnson in the Continential Service. Battle of Roodsley's Mill, Enlisted Rev. War 7th NC Regiment Pension #W9352 1790 Stokes Co. NC, 1810-20 cc Darlington County, NC. 1820-30 cc Butler County, KY. Date for Pension 1825. was a Hog Farmer. Left NC with wife Elizabeth and Child Nicey, via flatboat to KY. also October, 1832, Made Declaration for Rev War Benefits. Battle of Camden 2nd NC Regiment, 1833, Pension #W9352, Deed Book C p 54, 1horse, 3cows, 2calves, 200 acres poor land. |
